First TRIREME Conference to gather insights for future work

The "Skills (R)Evolution in the Automotive-Mobility Ecosystem" conference brought together industry leaders, education providers, social partners, and regional representatives for an in-depth exploration of the challenges and future opportunities related to skills development in the Automotive-Mobility sector.

This event marked the official launch of our project, which aims to enhance skills intelligence, update training programs across the Automotive-Mobility Ecosystem—focusing on digitalization, sustainability, circular economy, value chain resilience, and new business models—and address the social impacts of the twin transition on the workforce. The project also seeks to evaluate current educational and training challenges and support the rollout of its outcomes across the European Automotive Regions.

The day began with welcoming speeches from Jakub Stolfa, President of the Automotive Skills Alliance (ASA), and Julie Fionda, Deputy Head of Unit at DG EMPL (European Commission). This set the stage for an engaging panel discussion featuring prominent speakers from various sectors: Lorena Ionita, Deputy Head of Unit at DG GROW (European Commission), Thomas Wobben, Director at the European Committee of the Regions, David Storer, Director at CLEPA (European Association of Automotive Suppliers), Isabel Sobrino Maté, Senior Policy Advisor at Ceemet (European Tech & Industry Employers), Benjamin Denis, Senior Policy Advisor at industriAll Europe, and Petr Dolejsi, Director at the European Automobile Manufacturers' Association (ACEA).

The conference also featured interactive workshops focused on Skills Intelligence and Anticipation, as well as Collaboration in course creation and delivery.

Participants had the opportunity to explore best practices, share insights, and collaborate with industry experts and thought leaders to pave the way for informed policy recommendations.
