TRIREME supports Hydrogen VET Forum 2026 at Spa-Francorchamps

The 3rd edition of the Hydrogen VET Forum took place on 8–9 May 2026 at the iconic Spa-Francorchamps circuit in Belgium, bringing together vocational education and training (VET) teachers, technical trainers, and university professors for two days of learning, exchange, and industry engagement focused on hydrogen in mobility.

Supported by the TRIREME project, the Forum provided participants with a comprehensive overview of emerging hydrogen technologies and their applications across the mobility sector. The initiative combined preparatory online learning modules with an in-person programme held alongside the FIA World Endurance Championship, offering participants both theoretical knowledge and direct exposure to cutting-edge developments in hydrogen-powered transport.

Throughout the event, attendees heard from leading organisations including Toyota Racing, Hyundai Motor Company, Vamia Vocational Education, and ArianeGroup. Sessions covered topics such as hydrogen fuel cells, hydrogen combustion engines, safety protocols, decarbonisation in air transport, and the growing interest in liquid hydrogen technologies.

A key component of the programme was the Hydrogen Village, where participants engaged directly with industry representatives, research organisations, and innovators working at the forefront of hydrogen mobility. The event also offered unique opportunities to witness hydrogen prototypes and advanced mobility concepts showcased within the FIA WEC environment.

The Hydrogen VET Forum aims to strengthen the connection between vocational education and rapidly evolving industrial needs by equipping educators with up-to-date technical knowledge and practical insights that can be transferred into classrooms and training programmes across Europe.

The Forum was organised through the collaboration of the Automobile Club de l’Ouest, FIA World Endurance Championship, MissionH24, Automotive Skills Alliance, Green Skills for Hydrogen, Hydrogen Europe Research, and supporting partners including TRIREME.

By supporting initiatives such as the Hydrogen VET Forum, TRIREME continues to contribute to the development of future-oriented skills ecosystems aligned with Europe’s green and digital transitions.
