Reactive Response on Sectoral Skills Intelligence

TRIEREME released the first deliverable within the Work Package on Skills Intelligence Gathering.

The deliverable consists of three documents:

Desk Research Report: A study providing an overview of the automotive-mobility sector's key trends from 2030 to 2050, offering both quantitative and qualitative evaluations. The findings will support future work by TRIREME, which will further refine the research and provide insights into skills, occupations, and training needs in the sector.

This report begins with an overview of the Automotive-Mobility ecosystem, covering topics like electrification, digitalisation, automation, sustainability, the circular economy, tyres and rubber components, and the global economic context. Then, it addresses major EU policies impacting the sector, focusing on regulations related to climate neutrality, raw materials, infrastructure, and social aspects, as well as their implications for preparedness, scalability, and challenges. Its final section examines sectoral trends for 2030-2050, particularly in digitalisation, sustainability, circular economy, value chain resilience, and emerging business models.

Survey Report: A document analysing the survey conducted by TRIREME between July and September 2024, targeting key stakeholders in the Automotive-Mobility ecosystem. The survey aimed to gather insights on sector trends, including digitalisation, green practices and sustainability, value chain resilience, and new business models. It was the first in a planned series of surveys.

The findings reveal general awareness and preparedness within the sector but highlight significant gaps in workforce training and skills, particularly regarding new technologies and sustainable practices. The results emphasise the need for ongoing skills development and the adaptation of educational programmes to meet the sector's evolving demands. Upskilling and reskilling efforts will be crucial for building a resilient and future-ready workforce.

Workshops Report: A document summarising the initial series of TRIREME workshops, which aimed to gather insights and engage key stakeholders in discussions on the skills agenda within the Automotive-Mobility ecosystem. It captures the key points and feedback provided by stakeholders during this first round of workshops.
