TRIREME at the Forefront of the Skills (R)Evolution in Automotive Mobility
Partners from across the TRIREME consortium gathered in Ostrava to attend the Skills (R)Evolution in the Automotive Mobility Ecosystem conference, held yesterday. The event was organised by the Automotive Skills Alliance and hosted by VSB – Technical University of Ostrava (VSB-TUO).
The conference opened with a welcome speech by Igor Ivan, Vice-Rector for Strategy and Cooperation at VSB-TUO. He was followed by Eduard MuĊický, Deputy Minister at the Czech Ministry of Industry and Trade, who delivered a keynote address on the transformation of the automotive sector.
A highlight of the day was a panel discussion on the current status and future perspectives of the Automotive-Mobility Skills Agenda in the EU. TRIREME partners industriAll, ATEC, the Stuttgart Region Economic Development Corporation (WRS), and the ADECCO Group, together with Hyundai, shared insights in a session moderated by Petr Dolejsi (ACEA). The panel addressed the challenges faced by companies, trainers, regions, and social partners—stressing the urgent need to reframe investment in training, upskilling, and reskilling as a strategic investment, rather than a cost.
TRIREME’s own progress and impact were showcased in the session "Advancing Transformation through TRIREME: Insights, Trends, and Development", presented by partners SPIN360 and the ADECCO Group. They explored TRIREME’s Sectoral Skills Intelligence results and the project’s European approach to training development and recognition.
